The Paranormal Activity franchise is one of the most unexpected successes in the history of cinema, going from an initial $15,000 low budget horror to making almost $800 million as of the release of the most recent film, The Marked Ones.

It is a juggernaut that started out on a wave of critical and audience acclaim, though over the years and the sequels both of these have waned considerably, even if the spin-off released last week did re-invigorate interest somewhat.

As usual, sound off in the comments with your own suggestions!
