10 Weird & Obscure Facts About Quentin Tarantino

5. He Was An Elvis Impersonator On The Golden Girls

tarantino elvis Everybody has to start somewhere, and to raise some cash as well as get his SAG card, Tarantino decided to take on some bit roles. One of these roles happened to be that of an Elvis impersonator on The Golden Girls. Whether Tarantino is a good actor or not is debateable. But, whenever he gets a role, being the extrovert that he is, he is always determined to make it memorable. In this particular incident, he decided that instead of being the bog-standard Elvis in a rhinestone jumpsuit, Tarantino would simply wear his own clothes. He explained his choice in fashion in an interview with Margy Rochlin in 1994:
€œI wore my own clothes, because I was, like, the Sun Records Elvis. I was the hillbilly cat Elvis. I was the real Elvis; everyone else was Elvis after he sold out.€
€ Or Tarantino was just incredibly lazy. Either way, it was memorable. I€™ve included a clip of the scene below. Tarantino is the €˜hillbilly cat Elvis€™ in the middle, flinging his arms about and hamming it up as if his life depends on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgcsHqgfm-Y
