10 Worst Movies Of 2014 (So Far)

The remainder of 2014 can't get any worse than this. Can it?

Yesterday, we made our picks for the year's best movies so far. Among them was Calvary, a black comedy and procedural about a Catholic priest facing a crisis; Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a '70s inspired political thriller and the latest installment in Marvel's ever expanding cinematic universe; and The Lego Movie, a nostalgic throwback that pretty much defied expectations and somehow emerged as the most consistently enjoyable movie of the year. Which brings us to the other side of the coin, of course - those movies we all wished we hadn't seen. Although 2014 has gifted us with some great, memorable flicks, it's also given us reason to want to gorge our own eyes using the sharp side of a popcorn box. That's to say, there have been some truly horrendous releases this year, the worst of which deserve to be met with nothing more than straight faces and sentences like: "What in the name of all that is good has happened here?" As with our list of the best movies, any movie released theatrically for the first time in either the UK or the US between either January 1st 2014 and right now were permitted for inclusion.
