10 Wrestling Movies That Should Be Made
9. A Wyatt Family Thriller
His mystique might be dead and buried at this point, but peak Bray Wyatt is still one of the most captivating characters in WWE history. At his best, Wyatt’s twisted cult leader act was unlike anything we’d ever seen in the sport, and his murky background and unclear motives should have given WWE plenty of opportunities to explore his backstory.
The company never really expounded Bray's life away from professional wrestling, however, and concepts like Sister Abigail were never fully fleshed-out. Taking The Wyatt Family to the silver screen would give them the opportunity to do so, and while it’d take careful writing to avoid the hokey trappings Bray has fallen into on WWE television, there’s potential in a Wyatt movie.
Wrestling doesn’t even need to be involved at all. Instead, the film could focus on Wyatt’s life as a backwoods cult leader, showcasing the ways he twists his followers into servitude, resulting in something of a backwoods Wicker Man (not the Nicolas Cage version, obviously). Ditching Bray’s supernatural antics and focusing on a more strapped-back aesthetic could see the producers succeed where WWE have failed, and lead to a compelling, creepy thriller.
