10 X-Men Characters Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off

Which ones could carry their own feature film?

If it's going to compete with Marvel, Fox needs to start making more movies in the X-Men universe on top of the big team movies. They started that with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that was dead out of the gate. The Wolverine was a nice recovery, however, so expect more characters than just Wolverine to be getting their own spin-off movies. After all, X-Men was the first real big screen success for any Marvel property, and Fox did a fantastic job with the original series, up until Bryan Singer left and Brett Ratner came on-board for the third instalment. Still, with the return of Singer and the success of The Wolverine, expect more standalone outings. Which characters exactly, however, is unknown. You've got the original X-Men line-up from the comics, the line-up seen in the movies, and various mutations (no pun intended) that have appeared in print and in animated versions of the team over the years. There's also the Brotherhood of Mutants, and various other characters associated with the group. Fans don't know exactly which characters Fox has the license for, though a few websites have compiled lists. Quicksilver, for example, seems to be licensed jointly as he has turned up in X-Men: Days of Future Past and will appear in the upcoming Avengers sequel. Fox holds the rights to Deadpool, and is rumoured to have them for Cable as well. Lets assume, however, that Fox has the rights for what's on this list, and proceed to look at the ten characters who deserve their own spin-off films from the X-Men universe.
