100 Greatest Movie Villains Of All Time

46. Don Logan - Sexy Beast

on Logan Played By: Ben Kingsley Don Logan deserves a special award purely for making Ray Winstone look like a snivelling weakling and watching him terrorise Winstone's Gal is an intense experience. Logan is a raging sociopath, who like all raging sociopaths appears permanently on the brink of descending into a full on meltdown that would destroy anything and everything in his path. Ben Kingsley brings a whole new level of viciousness to the role that grabbed him an Oscar nomination and showed him in an entirely new light. Logan is a torpedo of fright and profanity in a visceral film that has become an instant British classic.

45. The Alien - Alien

alien 300x600 Played By: Bolaji Badejo The towering beast is the icon of Ridley Scott's brilliantly dark film with massive credit going to costume designer HR Giger for the impressive look of the villain. The Alien is a predatory being, intent on wiping out all threats with relentless determination as Captain Dallas and his crew soon find out. The distinctive form of the creature makes it one of cinema's most recognisable villains and the stature of the Ridley Scott classic places The Alien as one of the most popular villains in film. Seeing the provocative image of The Alien is a mesmerising experience as a villain such as this had never been seen before the sci-fi masterpiece was released in 1979.

44. Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare on Elm Street

Played By: Robert Englund Before Freddy was turned into a lame wise-cracker in the sequels, he was a haunting and visceral creation and one of the finest horror movie villains. In the original Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy was the boogeyman who created terror from his appearance and actions - the claws and scarred face were enough to petrify anybody. And whilst his power has shrunk somewhat with the endless pointless and tedious sequels and remakes, lovers of the first Nightmare on Elm Street know just what made Freddy so scary when he first burst onto the screen.
