12 Bad-Ass DC Movie Scenes That We Almost Got To See

12. Superman v Wonder Woman - Justice League Mortal

Superman v Wonder Woman

In an alternate universe, we got to see a Justice League movie well before now and from the brilliant, beautiful mind of Mad Max creator George Miller no less. His Justice League Mortal could well have been a thing of genius, but ultimately it ended up being canned thanks in part to the writer's strike in 2008.

And with it went the tantalising scene that would have seen Superman forced to fight his League team-mates by mind-controlling villain Maxwell Lord (played by Jay Baruchel of all people). The sequence would have included Superman throwing fists with Wonder Woman, answering a far more compelling "who would win" question than any Batman v Superman nonsense. After all, who wouldn't want to see God versus Invincible?

Baruchel himself revealed the scene when talking to Happy Sad Confused (via Comic Book), and it sounds excellent:

“There’s a scene where Maxwell Lord brainwashes Clark and all of a sudden this guy’s got Superman as a weapon. But in order for me to do this – to get in to a Kryptonian brain – I start bleeding out of every f*cking orifice because it takes that much to get into the head of a Kryptonian. And then I turn him into Red-Eye Superman, and there’s this big a** fight between him and Wonder Woman where he breaks her wrists.”

Definitely a huge missed opportunity.
