Just go ahead and leave a spot on the Oscar ballots, because Ford V. Ferrari is sure to make an excess of nominations. The film is a Fox Film product that was just recently handed to Disney through the merger in March. Emma Watts, vice Chairman of Fox Film, told audiences that “movies like the studio’s Ford v. Ferrari are "an endangered species" per Variety.

Variety added of the exclusive footage, “Mangold offered up sleek and honeycomb-tinted shots, heavy on car porn and punchy dialogue. Bale looks brooding and slick with engine grease. Damon does not go for vanity here as a down-on-his-luck engineer shacking up in an Airstream trailer [...] The racing sequences are exhilarating, made elegant by the vintage car designs.”

James Mangold directing, Christian Bale and Matt Damon starring, as well as a November 15, 2019 release date shows that Fox/Disney smell blood in the water, and that blood is coloured Oscar gold.

If you talk in a theatre I'm in, be prepared to get some pretty passive aggressive stares.
