12 Critically Acclaimed Recent Movies That Actually Sucked

11. Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit 2018 Movie
Sony Pictures Releasing

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 63% (5.8/10)

What The Critics Said: Though they felt that some of its contemporary flourishes wouldn't fly with hardcore Beatrix Potter fans, critics broadly praised Peter Rabbit as a fast-moving, adorable live-action-animation hybrid that should effortlessly please its target audience.

Why It Actually Sucked: Though Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne try their damnedest to lend some charm to this mouldy family romp, it's fatally handicapped by a jarringly inconsistent tone and an overabundance of Sony-owned pop music, not to mention a moderately irritating vocal performance from James Corden.

It does just barely enough to keep the tiniest tots quiet, sure, but don't they - not to mention adults - deserve better than that?
