The Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it is officially over.

After 11 years and 22 movies, many highs and many lows, the Infinity Saga - as the first 22 films of the MCU are to be known as - has come to end with Avengers: Endgame.

But even though the storyline of the original Avengers team has wrapped up, the MCU will go on for years to come. So what comes next?

Avengers: Endgame left a lot open to what the future of the MCU will look like, so there are a lot of questions that need answering...

12. Does Hawkeye Retire For Good?

Avengers: Endgame was the definitive conclusion for three of the original six Avengers: Natasha Romanoff is gone (although a prequel movie is coming), Tony Stark is gone, and Steve Rogers is gone. Thor and Professor Hulk, meanwhile, still have a little story left in them for future movies (presumably; more on them soon). That just leaves Clint Barton.

Clint reunites with his family and it seems that he's hung up the bow and arrows for good when the film ends. But could he return to action? He retired once but was brought back in, so why not again?

Answer: In an ideal world, Clint stays retired, but Disney+ have already announced that there's a Hawkeye show in the works there, in which he supposedly trains a new Hawkeye (probably Kate Bishop).

While there’s nothing wrong with him returning in cameo form later on down the line in the movies, his arc is finished. But having him play the mentor role in a limited show works fine.

Beyond that, Marvel, please just let Hawkeye be.
