12 Iconic Story-Lines DC Film Universe Must Adapt Next

What's next after Batman V Superman? These ones please!

The DC multiverse is a comic book line like no other. The oldest publisher still in the game, they have a good thirty years on their closest competitors €“ which means they have a good thirty years more classic stories to draw on. Take into account that, unlike Marvel, DC have long since curated a good couple dozen alternate universes alongside their main fictional world (the place where Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Ambush Bug all play nice), and that adds a heck of a lot more source material to draw upon. And draw upon they soon will, with parent company Warner Bros planning to bring no less than ten movies based on DC properties from now through the year 2020. Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel set the stage, and it'll duff the planks up a little with next year's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice €“ the first proper trailer of which is dropping this week €“ but beyond that, it's a bit of a mystery. There's the star-studded Suicide Squad movie, out in 2016 as well, but otherwise? It's all up for grabs. Wonder Woman just got a new director in Patty Jenkins, after Game Of Thrones veteran Michelle MacLaren abdicated. But there's no plot details or anything like that; Warner also have Cyborg, Flash, Green Lantern solo films all building up to some Justice League team-ups. Man Of Steel drew on any number of retellings of Superman's origin, and his upcoming brawl with Batman is said to take inspiration from the classic graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns €“ so, what sources should the rest of the films look to? Here are twelve such iconic storylines the DC Cinematic Universe should adapt next.
