This is arguably the most prominent issue that pervades across the entire MCU, that the individual films too often feel overly in service of the bigger picture, where they're ultimately just flashy advertisements for the next ensemble Avengers movie.

It's the reason that Edgar Wright bailed from Ant-Man after working on it for so many years, and though some of the Marvel films do get away with being mostly standalone, for the most part it's clear that Marvel Studios wants each of their films to tie into the overall tapestry, whether it serves the focal story or not. Case in point: that cool but admittedly forced Ant-Man/Falcon fight scene.

Will It Be Avoided?: Early screening reports have called Ragnarok "self-contained", so it seems that any nods to the exterior world will be minimal at best, perhaps reserved for the inevitable credits scenes.
