10. Robert Shaw Teased Richard Dreyfuss Constantly - Jaws
Given how great the on-screen relationship between Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss is in Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, Jaws, it's easy to forgive the turbulent antics that went on during the shooting of the movie. After all, part of what makes Jaws so good is the bickering and bitching between Quint and Hooper.
That tension is compelling and authentic for one very good reason too: the pair famously loathed one another and it's all up there on the screen for everyone to see. Given Shaw's reputation as "difficult," though, one can imagine he was probably the main instigator of this behaviour.
And it's something that Roy Scheider, the actor who played Amity Police Chief Martin Brody, testifies to: "Look at you, Dreyfuss," he said in one interview, quoting Shaw. "You eat and drink and you're fat and you're sloppy."
No wonder Dreyfuss was riled.
