Given the fact that Sean Connery cost so much money to star in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen that the studio couldn't then afford any other big names to go alongside him, it's a little rich that he had such a bad time of it.

Infamously, this was the film that ended Connery's career and by all accounts, it sounds like it was a slog to work on - particularly as Connery and director Stephen Norrington fought like cat and dog over - in Connery's words - "professional differences, personal differences, you name it." That apparently almost led to a physical fight between the pair with Connery threatening to have his director fired.

And while he was committed to completing the film at the time, Connery was less diplomatic on the press tour, openly saying of Norrington “on the first day I realized he was insane." Ouch.
