Rian Johnson seemed to deliberately subvert a lot of what audiences expected from this movie, and while a lot of that worked in the film's favour, here's one thing that definitely didn't: the lack of lightsaber fights.

The only times we see lightsabers clashing are during Luke and Kylo Ren's flashback and also their climactic non-fight at the end of the movie.

Neither of these instances really count for obvious reasons, and in terms of the movie's present timeline, there's not a single real, legit lightsaber battle.

It's a staple of the franchise and something fans expect, and considering how much action there is in the movie and how well executed it is by Johnson, it's a damn shame he didn't give us a saber fight to remember.
