12 Surprisingly Awesome Straight-To-Video Movies

Why It Should've Sucked: Let's be honest: it's never a good sign when a movie's theatrical bow is pulled three months before release and the producers have to dump it on VOD because they couldn't interest any other studios, especially when it's being directed by the immensely hit-and-miss Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin' Aces, The A-Team).

Why It's Awesome: Universal really screwed up by not giving this one a chance: it's rough around the edges for sure, but this madcap tale of a limo driver (Patrick Wilson) who has one night to pay back a sizeable gambling debt is a total blast.

It's a relentlessly energetic thrill-ride with hilarious cameos from David Hasselhoff and Ray Liotta, and never sits still in one place for too long. Scattershot by its nature but ultimately highly entertaining, Stretch has already become something of a cult classic.
