12 Terrible Movie Characters Redeemed By Awesome Deaths

12. Dominic Greene - Quantum Of Solace

A solid contender for the most boring and forgettable Bond villain of all time, Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) is little more than a dull middle-man for shady espionage outfit Quantum (a subsidiary of Spectre).

Amalric tries his best to imbue the character with...something, but he's left stranded with a generic foreign baddie whose best moment cribs lazily from Goldfinger (drowning Gemma Arterton's preposterously-monikered Bond girl Strawberry Fields with crude oil).

Cause Of Death: James Bond (Daniel Craig) captures Greene and strands him in the South American desert, with only a can of engine oil to quench his thirst. It's later implied that not only did he drink the engine oil, but he was shot dead by Quantum's higher-ups.

It was a wonderfully savage death, so cruel and bitter on Bond's part - and so far divorced from the tone of the sillier Brosnan movies - that it almost made us feel sorry for Greene. Almost.
