12 Things You Learn Rewatching Avengers: Infinity War

11. A'lars

Thanos Father
Marvel Studios

In a moment that is almost too easy to overlook, upon Thanos meeting Red Skull, he greets the titan as the ‘son of A’lars’ – which is also the name of Thanos’ father in the comic universe.

This is particularly interesting not only because A’lars is a fairly important character within the comics surrounding Thanos, but also because in the comics A’lars is an Eternal - a race of super-powered beings that were created by the Celestials to protect the Earth.

Should A’lars still be an Eternal within the comic universe, this would confirm both species to canonically exist in the MCU, which would be a pretty big reveal given how extensively powerful the Celestials are considered to be.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
