13 2018 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You

Release Date: April 20

There's a lot of industry buzz about Jason Reitman's new dramedy Tully, in large part due to Reitman's secrecy surrounding the project, to the point that there are still no official promotional materials barely three months away from its release.

It's known that the movie revolves around a single mother (Charlize Theron) who receives help from a nanny (Mackenzie Davis), but beyond that, Reitman's keeping the lid firmly on the mystery box for now.

This has prompted some to suggest that the film might be an homage to Mary Poppins, and though Reitman has enjoyed success with his earlier efforts Thank You for Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air and Young Adult, his last two movies, Labor Day and Men, Women and Children, were not good at all.

With a screenplay written by Reitman's maddeningly inconsistent collaborator Diablo Cody, it's even harder to be optimistic, and that's without addressing the fact that Reitman has another movie, The Front Runner, also due out in 2018. Could he have spread himself a little too thinly on both of these projects?

Reitman needs a home-run movie to prove himself once again, and while Tully could be it, his recent output suggests probably not.
