Though there's certainly audience interest in a biopic of legendary Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, and early images show Rami Malek to be a surprisingly impressive fit, the project has been threatened with derailment recently due to director Bryan Singer's dismissal from the project.

Singer reportedly clashed with Malek numerous times during production and was eventually fired by Fox after failing to turn up on set after Thanksgiving.

Singer has since been replaced by Dexter Fletcher to finish the remaining weeks of filming, and though Fletcher's contributions will ultimately amount to just a fraction of the final film, it's entirely possible that Singer and Malek's creative differences could very well have infected the entirety of the production.

This has the potential to be fantastic if they get it right, but these issues combined with the fact that the film will reportedly gloss over Mercury's health decline and is being written by the minds behind The Lone Ranger and overly-safe biopic The Theory of Everything, make it hard to go all-in.

Which 2018 are you most expecting to disappoint? Shout them out in the comments!
