13 2018 Movies That Are Destined To Disappoint You

12. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald

Fantastic Beasts The Crimes Of Grindelwald
Warner Bros.

Release Date: November 16

Though the first Fantastic Beasts was itself a mild disappointment, it nevertheless did a solid job of introducing audiences to a likeable cast of new characters, including Colin Farrell's thoroughly entertaining villain Percival Graves...who ill-advisedly turned into Johnny Depp (aka Grindelwald) at the very end of the movie.

The main problem approaching this sequel is that Depp feels like such a poor substitute for Farrell, who was one of the best things about the first film, while Depp's appearance was as laughable as it was shocking.

Needless to say, Depp looks ridiculous in the few images of the sequel released to date, and if he plays up to his usual hammy shtick, he could easily ruin the entire movie, especially as he's presumably going to be sticking around for most if not all of the three planned sequels.

Considering how great the rest of the cast is, and how promising Jude Law looks as a young Dumbledore, it's sadly quite probable that Depp's going to drag the whole thing down.
