13 Comic Book Villains That Movies Ruined Worse Than Dr Doom

8. Galactus (Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer)

Galactus is one of the most powerful supervillains in comic book history, a God-like entity with the ability to essentially devour planets. In the movie, his humanoid form is swapped out to make him resemble a giant cloud of gas instead, and while he still eats planets, the character is just too disembodied and far flung from the comics to be in any way satisfying for fans. As if that wasn't bad enough, he's quickly and easily defeated by the Silver Surfer at the end of the movie, and though the filmmakers claimed that a Silver Surfer spin-off movie would feature Galactus in his iconic, recognisable form, what's the point if the audience has to sit through a movie that completely tramples over basic facets of the character first? For all that the new Fantastic Four movie got wrong with Dr. Doom, they didn't quite alter the villain's appearance beyond all recognition and completely strip away his personality to this extent (albeit being not far off).
