It's almost impressive that the dumbest thing about the new Jurassic Park movie isn't the random presence of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), a young girl cloned from Benjamin Lockwood's (James Cromwell) dead daughter.

Though this big reveal is dropped in viewers' laps pretty much out of nowhere, it's ultimately in the service of attempting to justify the movie's idiotic final twist: Maisie pressing the Big Red Button to release the trapped, dying dinosaurs out into the big wide world.

The film frames Maisie's act as one of compassion - after all, the dinos are alive, just like her - despite the fact she's likely condemned hundreds if not thousands of people in the surrounding communities to be torn apart by dinosaurs in their own homes.

It didn't seem possible the franchise could get more inane than Jurassic Park III, but there it is.
