13 Incredible Moments In Otherwise Forgettable Movies

12. Death By Razor Wire - Ghost Ship

Ghost Ship
Warner Bros.

The Movie: Perhaps the most infamous example of a movie peaking hard in its opening scene and tanking immediately afterwards, this grisly horror flick relies a little too eagerly on haunted house/ship/whatever cliches and thoroughly wastes the likes of Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Margulies and Karl Urban in the process.

The Scene: The movie opens with the passengers of the ill-fated SS Antonia Graza meeting their grisly end, as an unseen entity pulls a lever, causing a spool of razor wire to cut across the dance floor, slicing everybody in half save for a young girl (Emily Browning), who was too short to be cut by the wire.

Cue some surprisingly excellent gore as the adults all fall to pieces before the girl's very eyes, using up all of the movie's imagination and creativity in the process.
