13 Major Revelations And Hints From The Ant-Man Trailer

A major death, the return of the Mandarin and ant-riding...

Little just got very big. Tiny is the new black. The best things come in small packages.... There's a good chance you'll see all of those loaded cliches in the next few months as Marvel turn up the hype on the least enticing of all of their superhero films (they know, you know it, even Edgar Wright probably knew it) - or at least their most difficult sell. That's just how PR works: think monkeys and type-writers. But at least it's a sign that Ant-Man is genuinely going to happen: something that was never assured even as Peyton Reed came on board. There was always the suspicion that Marvel would simply stamp on the ant. But no such disaster: whether you like the idea or not, Ant-Man will arrive this year, and the first trailer has now appeared. Putting aside the incredible (probably lop-sided) annoyance of the tiny epic having a teaser for the teaser for its teaser trailer, it wasn't a bad pay off, it just perhaps wasn't enough of one. It's all a bit poe-faced (until the little self-conscious dig at the end), and while there are flashes that will get fans amped up. Inevitably, there's also enough to fan the flames of apathy: some are already taking to social media to talk of their nagging suspicions that it's going to be a big flop, but who's to say that this isn't going to be a case of several wrongs (the casting, the change of director, the concept...) leading to a big right? Stranger things have happened.
