13 Things You Didn't Know About Shailene Woodley

7. She Was Considered To Play Katniss In The Hunger Games

Before she landed the role of Tris in the Divergent series, Shailene was considered for the part of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise, which of course eventually went to Jennifer Lawrence. Though it's hard to argue with the ultimate choice the casting directors made (Lawrence totally owns the role), the actress had a few words of advice for Woodley when she won the Divergent lead, "She basically was like, if you love the story and character, don€™t pay attention to the budget and jump in...Don€™t do anything stupid, don€™t do drugs or don€™t make a sex tape and you€™ll be fine.€ Woodley has also auditioned for a number of other high-profile roles over the years, including Sean Penn's daughter Lucy in 2001's I Am Sam (which eventually went to Dakota Fanning) and Cosette in 2011's Les Miserables adaptation, which went to Amanda Seyfried.
