Raid 2 When it comes to making ultra-violent movies that also have some credibility, English language films aren't necessarily among the world's finest. As viewers, that's why we often need to look a little further afield to satisfy that innate Human lust; to be truly shocked and compelled in equal measure. Despite the initial inconvenience of having to read subtitles, watching foreign language flicks can be immensely rewarding. In Asia in particular, it seems that the art of blurring fantastic storytelling and on-screen violence is thriving, with plenty of stand-out movies really pushing the boundaries. In an age where we are so desensitised to what one might call normal levels of violence, directors have had to work harder and harder to continually achieve real shock-value. This has never been more transparent than in the 21st century, where violence in all strands of the media is not only normal, but expected. Naturally, there are hundreds of competitors to make a list of this nature, meaning some excellent titles miss out.
