14 Movie Posters And DVD Covers That Blatantly Lied To You

1. A Bronx Tale

Fantastic Four WTF Poster

In film poster language, having two character staring each other down like this pretty much translates into “these two guys will be rivals in the movie.” That’s the case on this poster for A Bronx Tale, which shows Robert De Niro and Chazz Palminteri staring into one another's soul. The tagline reads, “One man lives in the neighborhood. Another man owns it. A devoted father battles the local crime boss for the life of his son.”

Not only do De Niro and Palminteri not really have a feud, but they only actually share two scenes. So much for that stare down.

This is also a rare poster where the tagline lies, too. A father battles a crime boss for the life of his son? That makes it seem like the son will be swept up in a life of crime and the father (De Niro) has to save him, but actually, the crime boss (Palminteri) is not even really the villain. He spends the whole movie trying to urge the son not to get into a life of crime.

Oh, and there's no scene where the son runs away from an explosion.

Nearly every image and piece of text on the cover is not true, except it does feature three human beings and it does take place in the Bronx. At least they got that right.
