1408 changes it's release date again

1408, the John Cusack led adaptation of the Stephen King novel has gone through yet another change in it's release schedule. Originally the film was supposed to be released next weekend, but earlier this year it was pushed back to a July 13th release which led me to call The Weinsteins "fucking crazy". This was because the movie would be opening up against the money making machine of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (and at that time Die Hard 4, but Die Hard moved) and another horror movie... The Strangers starring Liv Tyler. The new change, means the movie will be released next month and it will go up against Evan Almighty, Captivity and the limited release of Black Sheep. A very clever move, as every single weekend over the summer has a massive blockbuster flick locked in but Evan Almighty would seem to be the one that is most likely to fail. I enjoyed the trailer back in January and I like King's work but the films from his novels mostly disappoint. However with Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson on board, surely this one has a chance. Since it's been four months since we last talked about the movie, here is the trailer again to try and refresh your memory...

Thanks to Slash Film for the heads-up!
