15 Actors Who Could Be The Breakout Stars Of 2015

In 2014 Chris Pratt went from also-ran to A-list. Who might do the same in 2015?

In 2014 an actor previously best known for being seven down the cast list in a cult TV sitcom rose to become the star of two of the year's biggest blockbusters. This time last year Chris Pratt was about as far from a household name as Guardians Of The Galaxy or The Lego Movie were from being sure things at the box office. One year later and the two films have made over a billion dollars between them and Pratt looks like a leading man with genuine star quality. His lead role in this year's Jurassic World looks set to cement his newfound status as a bona fide Hollywood star. It sounds like a simple process, but in reality a lot of actors have been poised on the brink of stardom with multiple big movies due for release only to find the movies flop and their careers worse off than before. Look at Taylor Kitsch. Another rising TV star thanks to Friday Night Lights, Kitsch's 2012 featured huge budget blockbusters Battleship and John Carter alongside the serious drama of Oliver Stone's Savages. The films all failed, Kitsch did not become an A-lister and in 2014 he had just one film in cinemas: little seen Canadian comedy The Grand Seduction. Even the success of your big movies doesn't automatically guarantee a new star status. Sam Worthington's trio of franchise leading roles in 2009-10 (Avatar, Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans) made a lot of money, but the only major parts they opened for him were their own sequels. But, what of the contenders and up-and-comers of 2015? Are they likely to be Chris Pratts or Taylor Kitsches? These fifteen faces range from the vaguely familiar to the almost totally unknown, but in amongst them could be Hollywood's next big thing. This time next year some of these will be household names.
