15 Actors Who Desperately Need A Hit

3. Steve Martin

Steve Martin has enjoyed decades and decades of success as a comedic talent, though the surprise box office bombing of 2009's The Pink Panther 2 (after the original made more than $150 million just three years earlier) has caused his career to slow way down ever since.

Add in the catastrophic flop that was 2011's bird-watching comedy The Big Year (which recouped just $7 million of its $41 million budget), and it's clear why Martin hasn't starred in a movie in five years.

Though his two latest releases, Home and Love the Coopers, were box office successes, the former was a supporting voice role, and the latter was a voiceover cameo (playing a dog, no less).

Martin appearing in Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk later in the year should give him a much needed prestige boost, even if the film will be sold more on its entire ensemble than anything else.
