15 Awesome Films That Ruled 2012

13. Moonrise Kingdom - Wes Anderson

Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom was strange, but in a great way, primarily because growing up in itself was also a strange experience for most of us. From its cinematographic sepia color scheme to its odd performances by an ensemble of talented actors involved, Anderson's film was innocently pleasant and therein lies its memorability. Dealing with kids in the summer and their wild imaginations, it was hard not to relate it all to ourselves when we were younger during our days in the summer holidays as kids. A blur of innocent fantasies mixed with relatably realistic textures made Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom actually one of the best films of 2012.

12. Rise of the Guardians - Peter Ramsey

2012 has not exactly been a fantastic year for animated films, however, out of them all, this was my favourite An adaptation of William Joyce's novels, we were introduced to a variety of holiday season icons such as Santa and the Easter Bunny - only here they they were more battle-ready as warriors. The film was blessed with some great voice work by Jude Law as the villain, some gorgeous visuals and a fantastically epic score by Alexandre Desplat. It was a close choice between this or Paranorman.
