After months of waiting, Marvel Studios has finally released a new, extended look at their upcoming space opera, Guardians of the Galaxy. The studio is taking a big risk with this property, thanks to its relative unknown source material, and the fact that it features a talking raccoon and walking tree-man, among other bizarre alien creatures. Luckily, they've hired director James Gunn to bring it to life, and if you weren't excited before, this trailer should do the trick. It's packed to the gills with great new footage, beautifully polished effects, and a better glimpse at the film's tone and overall plot than the joke-heavy teaser trailer we saw back in February. All of these elements help cement the film as one of our most anticipated films of the year. Guardians of the Galaxy arrives in theatres on August 1st and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel as the titular team of intergalactic ex-cons, who are caught in the middle of a conflict that takes them across the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
