15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Dark Knight Trilogy

15. Cop Dialogue Is Almost Universally Awful

For some reason Christopher Nolan just couldn't seem to write sensible dialogue for the police officer characters in these movies. He might've thought it made them sound pulpy and comic book-esque, but in reality, it just made them sound stupid. Some of the more daft examples include, "He's coming right up on your butt!" (Batman Begins), the truckload in The Dark Knight, including, "Have a nice trip, see ya next fall", the infamously awful "No more dead cops!", and plenty from that idiotic nervous SWAT team guy, who proclaims "I didn't sign up for this!" (he clearly did) and, "Is that a bazooka!?" (who calls a rocket launcher a bazooka anymore?) These examples and others like it are pretty wince-inducing, but thankfully they're relatively brief, with the exception of the SWAT guy, who almost single-handedly ruins the Harvey Dent prisoner transfer chase scene. Someone needs to make a fan edit with all these dumb exchanges cut out.
