15 Darkest Disney Villains Of All Time

9. Queen Grimhilde - Snow White And The Seven Dwarves (1937)

You€™d think the wicked stepmother in Disney movies couldn€™t get any worse than Lady Tremaine, but Disney€™s other evil mother replacement is even worse, fairy tales loving to terrorise little children by threatening to take their mummies away. Disney€™s first ever proper baddie heart in a box also makes her lovely but lonely stepdaughter work as a scullery maid, the idea presumably being that the worst and most evil thing a parent can do is heart in a box make you tidy your room. Desperate to remain young and relevant heart in a box heart in a box, the Wicked Queen repeatedly asks her magic mirror whether she€™s the prettiest girl in the whole of junior high€ until her little stepdaughter hits a certain age heart in a box heart in a box, and the mirror decides that Snow White is old enough to be prom queen now.
That€™s when the queen sets the royal huntsman to lure the princess into the forest and kill her, bringing back her heart in a box heart in a box heart in a motherloving box as proof that he€™d succeeded. Want to know what€™s more psychotic than ordering a teenager€™s heart cut out? Already having a specially made box standing by to keep it in. The Queen is one of the few Disney Villains not motivated by a desire for power, when you think about it. She€™s already a sorceress and the recent beneficiary of a royal inheritance that includes an entire kingdom. All she wants is to be the hottest (more specifically, all she wants is her mirror to tell her she€™s the hottest; get a room, you two) but she€™s prepared to horribly murder a whole Mickey Mouse Club€™s worth of Disney princesses to get what she wants. She also inspired generations of women to wear dramatic pencilled in eyebrows, though. It€™s all swings and roundabouts.
