15 Images That Will Restore Your Faith In Upcoming Movies

The Internet is a place to foster our most passionate opinions on movies, though often these views might be fickle and ill-informed, born from an unsubstantiated rumour or a secret set picture that hasn't had the usual studio-mandated airbrushing and lighting. On the other hand, sometimes audiences are right to be skeptical about some upcoming movies, and so studios have to devote lots of time and energy to convincing potential customers that their movie is, in fact, worth shelling out for. A well-placed trailer can do this perfectly, but if that's too much work or filming just isn't far along enough yet, often studios will release single promotional stills, or better yet, allow set images to "leak" so as to gauge the audience reaction to certain aspects of the production without doing so publically. These 15 movies are all releasing under a certain degree of audience scrutiny, either that they're massively unnecessary spin-offs, reboots or sequels, or they just have a massive tide of expectation to measure up to. While we haven't lost complete faith in all of these movies, each could easily fall flat on its face, though these 15 images do provide some solace that the final product might actually live up to the hype, or in the case of those we're less sure about, actually greatly exceed our low expectations. 15. The Shredder - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Why We're Worried: We've been pressing the panic button ever since production began on the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: with a less-than-desirable director (Jonathan Liebesman), a horribly miscast Megan Fox as April O'Neil, and some really creepy human-style lips plastered onto the turtles, we weren't exactly given much to believe that this movie was going to be great. Why This Image Rocks: While those elements are all still major question marks, the above image tweeted by TMNT Fansite gave us our first proper glimpse at The Shredder (William Fichtner), and boy, it's a doozy. Yes, the jokes about Edward Scissorhands and Freddy Krueger have already begun, but if we put aside our well-entrenched negativity for a moment, doesn't Shredder actually look pretty menacing and bada**? He's certainly the most promising aspect of the movie so far, and with an actor of Fichtner's caliber taking the reins, we're optimistic that Bay and Liebesman just might do the character justice, and give the movie a significant boost in credibility and appeal at the same time.
