15 Most Controversial Films Of The Decade (So Far)

From fan boys to dictators, these are the films which have really kicked up a storm so far this decade.

The limits of what is cinematically acceptable and what isn't has certainly come on a long way since the medium first appeared over a hundred years ago - what was once considered completely taboo can now be shown without fear of censorship as the boundaries of "decency" continually change. Still, with several billion people on the planet it's inevitable that movies will continue to cause controversy, whether it's for pushing hard against those difficult to pin down boundaries and "going too far", causing offence to religious groups or even simply failing to stick closely to and respect the source material on which the film is based. There's always a good chance that even the most innocent-looking movie will cause offence for someone, however wrong-headed the reason may often be. The decade so far is no exception to the rule and has seen plenty of films released which have generated controversy, some for valid reasons, others less so. Some of these movies have forced us to take a collective look at the darker side of human nature or reconsider our views on sexuality; others have played loose with comic book mythology. The following list covers 15 of the most controversial movies released since 2010.
