After 2016 was a mixture of pleasant surprises and colossal disappointments at the movies, film fans are no doubt hoping that 2017 might be a little more consistent in doling out quality pictures.

These, by far the most anticipated and talked-about movies due for release this year, have the potential to be highly entertaining in their own rights, and each has no doubt piqued the curiosity of audiences curious about plot, casting, critical reception and so on.

Whether these movies are good or bad, though, our insatiable search for answers will finally be over when each one releases, putting the rumour mills to rest in hopefully satisfactory fashion. But perhaps a few of these burning questions may even be proven irrelevant by a clever twist of the facts: at this point, who knows?

Here are 18 crucial questions for 2017's most anticipated movies...

18. How Much Screen Time Does Tony Stark Get? - Spider-Man: Homecoming

Marvel Studios

The Question: With Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) playing a supporting part in Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) new solo adventure, how big exactly will his part be: just an extended cameo, or something closer to a co-starring role?

The Likely Answer: The trailer shows Stark appearing in at least three scenes, and considering the ridiculous amount of money there is to be made in having Spider-Man and Iron Man teaming up, it seems pretty likely he's going to get a large supporting role.

After all, it'd be mightily dumb for Iron Man to be just sitting around doing nothing while Spidey's trying to save the world on his own. Robert Downey Jr equals fat stacks of cash, so expect Marvel Studios to fully exploit that fact.
