18. Daniel Craig - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Nobody saw this brilliant cameo coming because the actor in question was quite literally hiding in plain sight.

Craig plays a Stormtrooper who is tasked with guarding Rey (Daisy Ridley) after she's been captured, and when she initially attempts the Jedi mind trick on him, he's easily able to resist, telling her, "I'll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum."

She tries the trick again, though, and this time it works, forcing the Stormtrooper to loosen her restraints and drop his weapon on the way out. The only way to recognise Craig here is through his distinctive voice, but because it's being filtered though the Stormtrooper helmet, it's a little harder to figure out.

Giving name actors cameos in Star Wars movies risks being incredibly distracting, but this was a perfect way to do it. With Tom Hardy set to appear in The Last Jed in an apparently similar capacity, this list might need an update in the near-future.
