3. Shakespeare in the park doth mother know you weareth her drapes?
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jnr) Avengers Assemble
There were times in Avengers Assemble when it was plainly obvious that Joss Whedon wanted us to completely buy into the Cult of Stark (and given his own story arc in the plot it's not hard to see the favouritism at play), but the upshot was that the man behind the Iron mask got to play with some of the best, and most charismatic lines of the entire film. We have a Hulk was too easy, but this critique of Thor's dress-sense was a fitting touch to Stark's supreme swagger.
4. Argo f*ck yourself.
Lester Siegel (Alan Arkin) Argo
If this isn't already on a shed-load of T-shirts somewhere, the world of film-related merchandise has missed a trick, since the frequently uttered, and massively quotable mantra is as brief and devastating as it is catchy. It might sound like a disparaging comment on the film itself, but Affleck's cool drama was up there with the very best this year.
