18. "The Kids At The Orphanage Call Me Dick" - The Lego Batman Movie

Bruce Wayne first bumps into Richard Grayson aka Robin at a gala ceremony, where Richard finds Bruce and fanboys out over getting to meet him.

He hilariously introduces himself to Bruce, "My name's Richard Grayson, but all the kids at the orphanage call me Dick", to which Bruce replies, "Well, children can be cruel."

It's the perfect example of an adult joke in a children's film that's subtle enough to fly high over the heads of the young'uns, but still blatant enough to be riotously funny for the grown-ups.

It's a totally unexpected, left-field gag that let audiences know early on exactly what they'd be in for.
