20 Most Unfairly Hated Movies Of The 21st Century

Why It's Hated: Again, some people are just out to hate everything Zack Snyder commits to film, while others took issue with the apparently consequence-free destruction in the movie's finale, and the controversial choice to have Superman kill General Zod.

Others found the film far too dour and lacking in optimism for a Superman movie, clearly attempting to ape Christopher Nolan's fashionably dark trilogy of Batman movies.

Why It's Unfair: Yes, Supes probably could've been a bit less mopey, but honestly, a lot of the criticism feels like it stems from stuck-in-the-mud fanboys who can't possibly contemplate an alternate interpretation of Superman that shifts away from the rather stodgy clean-cut image popularised by the Christopher Reeve movies especially.

Superman killing Zod in particular is a clever way to confront the inherent stupidity of the no-kill rule in a morally complex world, and while it won't be for everyone, a lot of the complaints come from stubbornly close-minded fanboys who already had their claws out for Snyder before the movie even started shooting.
