20 Worst Movies Of 2017

It's a tragedy that so many people were duped into buying EL James' inferior, abusive "erotica" novel series in the first place, let alone them then having to shell out on seeing it unsatisfyingly adapted for the big screen without any of the "sexiness" and with a distinct lack of charisma.

But the original made an eye-watering amount, so we were always going to get a follow-up. Call it the boring sex that follows inefficient, distasteful foreplay.

The sequel does all of the same bad things that blighted the original, and dares to be even less sexy, which is further testament to the fact that it really didn't know why the books were popular in the first place. It certainly wasn't the quality of the literature. It's almost as if the studio were embarrassed about what they were making, or something.

The sequel tries to be more grown-up, but the over-riding feeling is that it's just creepier and that the plot gets in the way of itself.
