19. The Inevitable Donald Trump Ribbing

It took barely five minutes before the inevitable Donald Trump jokes began, and it was of course host Jimmy Fallon who got the ball rolling by saying, "This is the Golden Globes, one of the few places left where America still honours the popular vote."

He followed up with, "A lot of people wondered what it would be like if King Joffrey had lived. Well, in 12 days we're gonna find out", and finally, "The ballots were carefully tabulated by the accounting firm of Ernst, Young and Putin."

Hugh Laurie continued the ribbing later on when accepting his Best Supporting Actor (TV) award for The Night Manager, noting how much more his win means considering this will be the final Golden Globes ceremony.
