Phase two of this great franchise is certainly not without its flaws.
Phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has, on the whole, been great up to now. The epic finale of phase one - which saw the Avengers assembling to take on the threat of Loki and his Chitauri army in New York City - has been surpassed with brilliant films like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the cosmic adventure Guardians of the Galaxy. The success of the franchise as a whole, as a result of these films, is phenomenal. The films have grossed nearly $7 billion in total and phase two's Iron Man 3 alone grossed $1.2 billion of that last year, while Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the fourth highest-grossing film of this year so far with a worldwide gross of $714 million. But the second phase of the franchise's adventure hasn't all been great. The four films so far - Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy - have indeed had their flaws (some more than others, undoubtedly).
