28 Weeks Later script review

31scriptreviewpic.jpgLatino Review have online a script review of 28 Weeks Later, currently in it's fourth week of filming. The movie of course is the sequel to the popular 2003 zombie hit 28 Days Later and will this time star Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau, Robert Carlyle and Rose Byrne. Some tidbits from the very positive review... (obviously SPOILERS AHEAD!) ..."Seven months later or 28 Weeks Later...we find out that the population of Great Britain has been reduced to 7,000 people. 60 million people have been killed......It isn't far away until all hell breaks loose in England where we see much of the same from the last movie where a bunch of survivors must band together in order to live. The difference between this movie and the first one is the infection itself - how people get it. I won't say because it gives away the film and it is the big reveal, which we don't find out till the 3rd act......Jeremy Renner's cool and badass character DOYLE, a mercenary, former SAS, doesn't make his first appearance till page 59... He goes on to give the 96 page script a B- and claims that it will be a fun "saturday matinee movie". You can read the whole review by clicking here. I really did have little hope for this project when it was first mentioned a couple of months ago but it has slowly won me over with each news tidbit. I like how they are going apocalyptic with the movie and that they kept the format of having a small number of characters who must work together in order to survive. Will it be different enough from the first movie to be successful though, or does that not matter because 28 Days Later was so popular? I can't believe i'm actually interested in seeing this now. source - latino review
