It is of course inevitable that there will be another Batman movie, but before we get into the speculation of who could direct, here is a new WhatCulture default message: The Dark Knight Rises Spoilers Lie Ahead.

So Christopher Nolan’s genre defining Batman trilogy is over and though his loyal and journalist threatening fan base would sooner choose a batarang to the testicles than accept it; he isn’t going to return as director and it is now the job of someone else to carry on the franchise that he built up, and left open with the ascension of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the new Batman.

Whilst it’s difficult to envy the job of the man who will be paid millions to point a camera at attractive American movie stars and whose only negative factor may be online trolls who are displeased with his work; it isn’t that enviable a position after the very large stamp of authority Nolan made on the genre and on the character.

Who really could take on the job? Nolan will no doubt return as a producer/story writer for the next film in the series but a lot of creative direction will rest on the shoulders of the next man at the helm which begs the question; just who is up to the task?

We here at WhatCulture towers are here to give the 5 best men for the job, take all of the credit and none of the royalties from when it’s a resounding commercial success…
