5 Film Franchises Ronda Rousey Could Join Next

She's joined The Expendables and Fast & Furious franchises - what could be next?

Ronda Rousey is the "IT" girl in professional sports right now: a top athlete with Olympic pedigree at the top of her sport, with massive mainstream crossover appeal. Hollywood took note as soon as the UFC let the women's bantamweight division in their doors, thanks in part to the success of Rousey (and her ability to make UFC President Dana White change his mind about female fighters). Rousey quickly wound up with an agent, with Hollywood projects sent her way, and signed on for three of them: The Expendables, the "who's who of action movies" franchise anchored by Sly Stallone, the Fast & Furious franchise, featuring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, and the big screen version of the hit television show Entourage. Rousey's role in The Expendables can be summed up like this: she was probably the only good "new" expendable on screen. And by new, we mean young. We're not counting Wesley Snipes, who played an old expendable busted out of prison to rejoin the old team. No, just the new generation of cardboard, cookie cutter, Hollywood pretty boys posing as action stars. It wasn't just being female that made Rousey stand out. While her line delivery will take time to develop, on camera, she had presence. We've seen more and more of Fast & Furious 7 as well. Where the franchise goes from here and how it handles Paul Walker's untimely death is anyone's guess, but it's sure to make a lot of money and propel Rousey to further stardom. While she'll no doubt be given her own starring vehicle at some point, it's hard to guess what that might be - but we can certainly take a stab at franchises the MMA champ could turn up in. A few of these are a little tongue in cheek, so don't go all Comic Book Guy on us just yet! Here are five film franchises Ronda Rousey could appear in next!
