4. Inspector Gadget (1999)
Before this pathetic adaptation, Inspector Gadget was a kids cartoon show in the 80's that was actually quite good. Gadget himself was a mix between a silly James Bond and Shaggy from the Scooby gang, solving crimes and battling his nemesis 'Claw' with, you guessed it, gadgets. The film itself was completely changed from the cartoon. The appeal of the cartoon was the ineptness of Gadget himself, who bumbled his way through each episode with an almost childlike innocence, similar to Rowan Atkinson's Johnny English. This was not the case with the movie. So many things were different from the series, it really bears no resemblance at all. His car could talk, Gadget himself was actually quite clever, the mysterious claw was unveiled after a few minutes as a run of the mill bad guy and Disney made it into a love story for no apparent reason at all. A terrible movie in it's own right, the fact that it almost ruined the cartoons legacy makes this even worse.
