5 More Early Masterpieces By Legendary Directors

4. Trainspotting (1996)

Danny Boyle is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to the films he's directed. He gives each one his directorial signature but you'd be extremely hard pressed to find twp movies that he's made in the same genre. He kicked his career off in amazing fashion with Trainspotting, one of the best films of the '90s. The way Danny Boyle is able to mix humor with the brutality of drug addiction is something to be marveled whether you're talking about someone who's made 10 films or just 1. Trainspotting is all together intense and profane but Boyle's direction keeps the film entertaining at all times even when examining the harshest realities of a lifestyle that comes along with drug addiction. The film itself feels like it's high and all of the characters display a level of manic exuberance that make the film one of the most fast paced of Boyle's career and also displays some of the best dark humor you're ever going to find in film.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
